VITA Training Day: Come one, Come all -- Invite your friends! 11am - 5pm on Friday, January 22nd in FCS 196 (& then in the practice lab, FCS 192) VITA training will be offered in a condensed course, including the computer lab training, so you can complete training in 1 day. Food is provided.
Register for VITA Training on the Accounting Aid Society website ( accountingaidsociety.org) & set up your account as Affiliated with: "AAS-U of M-Beta Alpha Psi" so that our Jan. 22 training date will appear among the options.
Friday, January 29: Special Tour! Our chapter is invited to a special tour of the Shinola facility in mid-town Detroit at 10am & will meet with the CFO! Tour is limited to 20 members. Sign-up on the Google Docs sheet or contact May Jean Dong. Members will have lunch at a cool hang out in Midtown.
Speaker Event: Friday, February 13, 6pm: Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) will present a panel of local IMA professionals from the Detroit Chapter.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is our primary service activity throughout the winter term. Sign up on the Accounting Aid Society website by creating a Volunteer profile. Be sure to use the group/Affiliate code: AAS-U of M-Beta Alpha Psi even if you're not a BAP member. This will give you access to the training calendar for our campus training on Jan. 22 in FCS 196. Our chapter will be presenting at the 2nd Annual "Engagement Day" on Jan. 22nd for the culmination of MLK Jr. Week of events. The Gift of Books donation was a huge success and made a great impact for the elementary children at Malcolm X academy.
Channel 7 WXYZ TV aired this segment on our chapter's initiative to help the children at the Academy as a follow up to their "Fix My School" feature.
Our chapter has an opportunity to expand this project -- stay tuned for more news as it unfolds.

Beta Alpha Psi is an honor society for accounting, finance, and ITM majors. We strive to provide our members with experiences that allow them to connect with business professionals, students, alumni, and the community. Learn more here on our site under the "How to Join" and "About" pages.
Meetings will be open to new candidates for membership in January 2016.

Pre-business students are encouraged to join our organization as affiliates! Our affiliate program offers students to get a taste of what Beta Alpha Psi can offer them as future members. For more information on becoming an affiliate, contact Mohammad Sharara. Once a student is accepted into the COB (no longer pre-business status), application for full membership status is needed in order to continue participating with the chapter.
If you need to be reimbursed for Beta Alpha Psi-related costs, please select the link for a reimbursement form. If members have questions about approved costs, please contact the chapter Treasurer prior to making the expenditure.
Please turn the form in to the chapter Treasurer or place it in the BAP mailbox located in Quad A.
